These Terms of Use apply to the Rano app and related support services. By downloading, purchasing, or using Rano, you agree to these terms and to the terms that Apple applies to your use of apps distributed through the App Store.
1. The service
Rano is an iPhone alarm clock that asks you to complete a selected mission. Available missions may include Easy Math, Object Hunt, Make Your Bed, and Sky Photo. Rano can schedule one-time or repeating alarms, maintain local completion history, and provide subscription and support flows.
2. Requirements and your responsibility
You need a compatible iPhone, a supported version of iOS, appropriate alarm permission, and—for photo missions—camera permission and network access. You are responsible for checking that your alarm is enabled, your device has adequate power and volume, and your intended wake-up path is safe.
Do not place mission objects where completing a mission would require climbing, going outdoors in unsafe conditions, disturbing another person, or interacting with dangerous equipment. Rano is not an emergency alert, medical device, safety system, or guaranteed substitute for another person or professional wake-up service.
3. Alarm and mission availability
Mobile alarms depend on the device, operating system, permissions, power state, volume, Focus and notification settings, and other conditions outside Rano’s control. Photo verification also depends on camera access, connectivity, third-party verification services, and image quality. Verification can be delayed, unavailable, or incorrect.
Rano may offer a fallback mission when a photo cannot be processed. You remain responsible for having another appropriate alarm or wake-up arrangement when missing an alarm could cause harm, loss, or a critical missed obligation.
4. Subscriptions
An active Rano subscription may be required after onboarding. Available plans, prices, billing periods, and any introductory offers are shown in the App Store purchase screen before you confirm payment. Payment is charged to your Apple Account.
Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period. Apple manages billing, renewal, cancellation, and refunds. You can manage or cancel the subscription in your Apple Account settings and use Rano’s restore-purchases option where available. Removing the app does not by itself cancel a subscription.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use Rano in a way that violates applicable law or another person’s rights;
- submit illegal, abusive, or deliberately harmful material to a photo-verification service;
- attempt to bypass, overload, probe, or interfere with Rano or its service providers;
- reverse engineer or redistribute the app except where applicable law or a component’s own licence permits it; or
- use automated systems to make excessive verification or service requests.
6. Privacy
Rano’s Privacy Policy explains how local alarm data, live mission photos, analytics, error reports, and subscription information are handled.
7. Changes and discontinuation
Rano may add, change, suspend, or remove features to improve reliability, respond to operating-system changes, protect the service, or comply with law. Reasonable efforts will be made to avoid disrupting active subscriptions, but uninterrupted availability is not promised.
8. Termination
You may stop using Rano at any time. Access may be suspended or terminated if you materially violate these terms, misuse the service, or create security or legal risk. Subscription cancellation remains subject to Apple’s billing process.
9. Disclaimers and liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Rano is provided “as is” and “as available.” No promise is made that every alarm will sound, every mission will be available, or every photo will be classified correctly. The warranty and liability provisions of Apple’s Standard EULA apply alongside any non-waivable consumer rights in your country or region.
